Expert Roundtable on AI Trust & Safety Metrics
On the 17th of February, AIAPI joined an expert roundtable convened by ASPI focusing on the development of common frameworks and metrics to measure the trustworthiness and safety of AI systems in Asia.

This session brought together leading AI policy thinkers, digital platform representatives, legal and technology law specialists, and technology innovators to discuss how metrics for trust and safety can be grounded in both global shared values and regional priorities. Experts explored practical approaches to assessing AI deployment outcomes, risks, and societal impacts. The discussions represent a foundational step toward harmonized AI governance that acknowledges and respects cultural and regulatory diversity across Asian contexts.
The dialogue also highlighted the importance of evidence-based frameworks that help policymakers, businesses, and communities evaluate AI systems on fairness, accountability, and social benefit on top of technical performance.
