We were pleased to have the opportunity to meet with Minister of State for Digital Development and Information Rahayu Mahzam at the recent ATxSummit in Singapore.

Our conversation covered key areas including AI safety, workforce transformation, and Singapore’s approach to these important domains. As artificial intelligence continues to develop rapidly, it is critical that governments, industry, and civil society work together to ensure that AI is deployed responsibly, safely, and in ways that benefit people and communities. We shared our findings on these topics from our recent publications on AI Safety “Screens, Systems, and Safeguards”, AI and Online Safety, AI and Workforce Transformation, and Responsible Development and Adoption of GenAI in ASEAN.

We also discussed the impact of AI in society broadly, and specifically the importance of preparing the workforce for the opportunities and disruptions brought about by the technology. Supporting workers, businesses, and institutions through this transformation will be essential to ensuring that Singapore remains resilient, competitive, and inclusive in the years ahead.

We are grateful for the thoughtful exchange and look forward to future meetings and continued collaboration with Singapore and ASEAN on these important issues.
