The ASEAN Startup Award is a prestigious competition that celebrates and nurtures outstanding startups across ASEAN and East Asia. The pre-event marked the beginning of this initiative, with the main competition set to follow, where startups competed for recognition and awards.
Dr. Leah Buendia, Undersecretary for Research and Development of the Philippines Department of Science and Technology, and National ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation (COSTI) Chair, inaugurated the event. In her address, she emphasized the Philippines’ unwavering support for such initiatives and highlighted the country’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
The award is designed to boost the growth of the startup ecosystem across ASEAN by recognizing and rewarding the most promising innovators. Startups from across Southeast Asia are eligible to participate, regardless of their country of origin. The competition encourages innovation, particularly in the sectors of Digital AI and Impact Startups, with the aim of bringing sustainable solutions and technological advancements to the forefront.
The AIAPI is honored to be a part of this initiative, and we extend our congratulations to all the participants and organizers. We look forward to witnessing the incredible impact that these startups will have on the ASEAN community and beyond.
